I couldn’t help but one-click this one when I saw the premise. A “blind/internet” date gone wrong, and it’s a psych-thriller, too??!!! MINE!!! All sorts of scenarios were running through my head. Would he be a stalker? Would he have a stalker ex? Would SHE become stalker-ish? Would he be some sort of underground serial killer, and yet the perfect boyfriend? WHERE could this go.
And this part of the blurb SOLD me on it.

The latest psych-thriller ARC that I was so excited to receive and it’s going live at midnight! You know me and my psych-thrillers. I can’t get enough of them, craving a crazy unputdownable mind-f**k, with a genius twist that makes my jaw drop. Those are the best!!!
And yes, this one did have plenty of suspense that kept me wondering what in the heck was going on (there’s no way I could have figured out that ending) though it wasn’t so-obvious-yet-so-cleverly-concealed as I had hoped. In fact, the frequent switching back-and-forth between characters, and timelines had me a bit confused, trying to catch up with what I just read, to what I was currently reading, and then back again. I was able to keep up, but had to stay so focused that I couldn’t just flow with it.

LOVE TRIANGLE DELICIOUSNESS ALERT!! If you’re looking to pine HARD over someone, and to feel like you’re falling in love, and to be all sorts of confused because also… there’s that other guy that you can’t stop looking at (but that barely acknowledges you, but then again.. sort of does), but then again…. he’s your new boyfriend’s best friend *ahem* (sorry for the run-on) but …. you’ve found your match!!!! Er… in this book, I mean. 😉
Tasha started this one and oh how I LOVE this game!!! This question kind of reminds me of my “hurricane days” from last year.
No electricity for a week, and nothing to do… nothing to cook, nothing to clean… just time to read. I had a make-shift pile of paper books I had been meaning to get to, just ready and waiting for me, and read and reeeeeeeead… I DID.
I was SO happy (even if I was hot and sticky and sick of what I was eating) but to be honest? A whole week of just reading what I had been wanting to read? BEST WEEK EVER!! 😉
Charlene is looking for a very specific “Dark” genre… and oooooohhhh yes! I LOVE going through that whole “in love with a very bad guy” dark kind of story, and having no clue how it’s going to end. There are a few that end *ahem* in a loving way, for sure, but not all of them do. All that attachment and wanting to please (even if it’s so wrong) and in the end…?
Hrmmmm… I certainly have a few that come to mind!! Okay I’m going to dig into my reviews, and see what I can pull up, but BEWARE!!!!! These recommendations are sort of “spoilery” in that Charlene is looking for a particular kind of ending. We might not know exactly how it ends (twists etc), but if it’s recommended here, there’s a chance it doesn’t end sweet. Er… well, I guess it depends on the character. 😉
